Shinku Build Guide: Cosmos DPS Rotation, Arcs, Awakenings and Teams
Build Shinku around her on-field Ultimate window. Compare Arc options and Awakening trade-offs, avoid losing Menacing Gaze stacks, and check sources before spending resources.
Published: 2026/07/10 · Updated: 2026/09/09
Quick answer: Shinku is an S-rank Cosmos damage dealer using Condensate Arcs. Build the team around an uninterrupted Ultimate window. Blushing Mirage and Lost Radiance are starting points to compare with the equipment you already own.
Review scope (September 9, 2026): corrected stale banner wording, skill terminology and equipment comparisons. Prydwen’s Shinku profile shows an update dated September 7, but labels its last review and calculations patch 1.2. Treat those calculations as a patch-specific reference, not proof of the strongest current team.
1. Character Basics
| Attribute | Shinku |
|---|---|
| Element / role | Cosmos / on-field damage |
| Arc type | Condensate |
| Main planning constraint | Reserve time on field for her Ultimate |
2. Banner Schedule
The original version 1.2 banner is not a current availability notice. Confirm the featured character, end time and banner rules in the game. For the other version 1.2 character, see the Iroi build guide.
3. Skill Set
Menacing Gaze builds while Shinku is not actively attacking; her next qualifying hit consumes it for Instant Strike. The normal cap is eight stacks. Switching clears stacks without A3; A4 raises the cap to sixteen.
Her resource names are Defiant Spirit and Fading Reason. Crimson Fury enters Surging Crimson for 13 seconds, ending early if she switches out. The window allows up to five Scarlet Descent uses and up to three Crimson Judgment uses, followed by Dragonflame Verdict. See the skill text on Prydwen.
Practical Rotation Checklist
- Prepare support effects before committing Shinku’s field time.
- Check that the intended effects are active, then enter her Ultimate.
- Use the enhanced attacks and finish the sequence before the window expires.
- If survival forces a swap, prioritise surviving over completing a theoretical rotation.
- Practise against the same encounter when comparing changes.
There is no universal “eight stacks equals three times the damage” rule here: total damage also depends on attack multipliers, critical hits, equipment and enemy defences.
4. Eidolons / Awakenings
A3 and A4 address different constraints: preserving stacks versus increasing their cap. A higher cap alone does not solve the problem of losing stacks when swapping.
Plan around the effects you actually have active. Do not copy a rotation demonstrated with extra Awakenings and expect an unawakened character to behave identically. Upgrade priorities are account-dependent advice, not a requirement to buy copies.
5. Best Build
Signature Arc: Blushing Mirage
At M1, the listed passive grants 20% ATK, then 20% Cosmos damage and 12% DEF ignore for 20 seconds after an Ultimate. The previous 32% Cosmos figure was not the M1 value. Source: Icy Veins’ Shinku build and Arc table.
Alternative Arcs
- Fluff of Ferocity: compare its upgrade level and availability with your existing Arc.
- Camellia Society: check its HP-consumption condition; taking damage is not necessarily the same trigger.
- A Time Will Come: its team condition refers to three different Esper Types, not three different Arc types.
These options are listed in the Icy Veins comparison. We do not reproduce relative damage percentages because the compared refinement levels and assumptions differ.
Gear Set (Cartridge) Recommendations
Start by comparing Lost Radiance with your available pieces. Street Boxer is another option, but its Charge-related effect should not be described as unconditional permanent Crit Rate. Consult the Prydwen equipment section for the set conditions.
Main / Sub Stats
Evaluate critical stats, ATK and Cosmos damage alongside passive uptime. Do not discard a useful set solely because it misses a published target: target stats are not minimum requirements for clearing every encounter.
6. Recommended Teams
Shinku Charge Team
A starting team to investigate is Shinku + Hathor + Zero + an Anima teammate. Compare the relevant reaction and support effects before investing.
Lakshana Hathor
Main DPS
Cosmos Esper Zero
Sub DPS
Anima Nanally
Main DPS
Anima Jiuyuan
Sub DPS / Grouping
This is a team-building starting point, not a tested claim that it is the best current endgame team. Check the Hathor guide, Zero guide and reaction guide against the characters you own. For another option, read the Iroi guide rather than relying on the old pre-release forecast.
7. Should You Pull?
Consider Shinku when you want an on-field Cosmos damage dealer and enjoy a timed burst window. Save resources if your existing teams already meet your needs, you need a different role, or frequent forced swaps make this playstyle frustrating. Test the available character trial before deciding.

FAQ
Is Shinku available on the current banner? +
This is a character build guide, not a live banner tracker. Check the current in-game banner and its end time before spending currency; her original version 1.2 banner is historical information.
Why do I lose Menacing Gaze stacks? +
Switching Shinku out clears the stacks unless the relevant Awakening is active. Set up supports before her on-field window instead of building stacks and immediately swapping away.
Do I need extra copies to build Shinku? +
Do not assume that a recommendation for an Awakening makes it mandatory. Start with the copy you own, practise the rotation and decide whether a specific effect solves a problem in your team. This guide does not provide equal-investment damage benchmarks.
What should I check when comparing Arc recommendations? +
Compare the same upgrade level, confirm that your team activates the passive, and include the resources needed to upgrade the alternative. A percentage from a different team or refinement level is not a guaranteed result for your account.
